Meet Your Guides

From his roots on San Cristóbal, Galápagos, Fabricio has lived a life deeply connected to nature. From childhood adventures as a scout, camping under the stars, exploring forests, and discovering wildlife, to years working in hospitality on the mainland, he cultivated both a deep love for nature and a talent for creating memorable experiences. This unique combination drew him to guiding in the Galápagos, where he has been sharing the islands’ magic with travelers for over 22 years.

As a naturalist guide, Fabricio brings expertise, curiosity, and heart to every excursion. Whether leading hikes, snorkels, dives, or kayaking trips, his enthusiasm is infectious, ensuring guests not only see the islands but truly experience them. His background in scouting and hospitality allows him to engage, entertain, and educate, while his certification as a Rescue Diver adds an extra layer of safety and confidence to every adventure.

For Fabricio, sustainable tourism is essential for the islands. He believes it not only protects the islands’ fragile ecosystems but also enhances the guest experience, allowing visitors to connect authentically with the wildlife, landscapes, and local communities. Land-based travel, he says, fosters meaningful interactions and encourages a deeper appreciation for everything the Galápagos has to offer.

For Fabricio, the Galápagos is a living classroom. He loves watching guests’ faces light up, hearing their stories at the end of the day, and knowing they leave with memories that will last a lifetime. His favorite spot is Kicker Rock (León Dormido) near San Cristóbal, where the towering cliffs and vibrant marine life, from sea turtles to schools of hammerhead sharks, create unforgettable encounters.

When he’s not guiding, you’ll likely find him snorkeling, diving, or exploring the islands’ coasts, always captivated by the ocean’s beauty and the creatures that call it home.

His favorite animal? Hammerhead sharks, whose graceful, coordinated movements through the water leave him awestruck every time.

What Fabricio hopes every traveler takes home it’s a lasting connection to the islands and a new way of seeing the world:
"That guests leave the Galapagos feeling transformed in some way. I want them to have experienced a moment that shifted their perspective, that made them think differently about our planet and their place in it."

What our travelers say about Fabricio:

"Our guide Fabricio was an a amazing host for our group. Our students were really engaged and inspired by him and his knowledge of the islands. Having such an energetic and engaging guide for our students was key, as they deal with major attention deficit disorder." - TJ, USA

"Fabricio was our guide on San Cristobal and brought incredible enthusiasm and passion to everything we did." - David, USA

"Fabricio took us on memorable snorkeling adventures (Kicker Rock, Los Tuneles) and great hikes (Sierra Negra Volcano, Tintoreras) sharing with us expert knowledge of the Galapagos' wildlife, ecology, history and local culture and current development issues. I wholeheartedly recommend the Galakiwi team for unique land-based adventures in the Galapagos!" - Michele, USA
