A Year of Unforgettable Moments, Thoughtful Planning & Experiences That Change You
If there’s one thing 2025 has reminded us of, it’s this: every traveler who joins a Galakiwi adventure brings their own dream of the Galápagos, and our job is to make that dream feel effortless, joyful, and deeply meaningful.
This year we welcomed families, solo explorers, students, first-time travelers, accessible adventurers, and nature lovers. What they all shared was a deep curiosity and a spirit of adventure. And while guests experience the wildlife, the thrill of the activities, the warmth of local communities, and the magic of the islands, there’s an entire world working behind the scenes to make those moments possible.
From customizing flights and accommodations to arranging dietary-specific meals on remote islands, our team spent countless hours fine-tuning logistics so travelers could simply be present and enjoy.
Helping someone fulfill a lifelong dream, to walk in Darwin’s footsteps, to witness evolution in real time, is a privilege we never take lightly.
Let’s look back at some of this year’s traveler experiences.
Our 8-Day Galápagos Family Adventure

We hosted many families through our 8-Day Galápagos Family Adventure Tour, an experience packed with activities and time together. Staying on two of the inhabited islands, families immersed themselves in wildlife, culture, and the unique ecosystems of the archipelago. Together, they hiked, kayaked, snorkeled, explored local towns, and created memories that will last a lifetime.
Here’s what David shared about his family’s experience:
“Our family of two 50-something parents and two high school-age teens was looking for an active trip… Galakiwi was able to accommodate our staggered start date, alter our flight plans and hotels, and create an itinerary perfectly suited to the physically vigorous travel we wanted… Our guide, Pablo, was phenomenal… This was truly the trip of a lifetime, customized to our family’s needs and abilities in ways we deeply appreciated.”

6-Day Land-Based Adventures

We also hosted many travelers on our 6-Day Land-Based Galápagos Tour, a shorter version of our flagship adventure designed for active explorers who want to go beyond the cruise routes.
Guests hiked volcanic landscapes, kayaked calm bays, biked along scenic coastlines, and visited iconic sites like Los Túneles, Kicker Rock, and the rim of Sierra Negra Volcano, all while unwinding in vibrant island towns between adventures.
Our guides went above and beyond this year, and travelers felt it:
“We just returned from an incredible 6-day Galapagos tour… Our guide, Pepo, was outstanding… When my daughter’s flight was canceled, Galakiwi stepped in immediately. They saved our trip and made it the adventure of a lifetime… Look no further, highly, highly recommend.”
— Debbie
10-Day Galápagos Adventure Tour

Of course, we also welcomed many groups on our iconic 10-Day Galápagos Adventure Tour, the ultimate immersion into wildlife, community, and the islands’ natural history.
For ten days, guests snorkeled with curious sea lions, grazing sea turtles, rays, and countless fish; hiked four of the inhabited islands; and embraced the rhythm of island life.Through this tour, guests experienced four inhabited islands in the Galápagos, gained insight into what makes each one unique, and interacted with the wildlife found only there, an amazing experience for those who want a deeper appreciation of the archipelago. And guests were not disappointed.
As Zoe put it:
“Words cannot express how magical this trip was… everything combined to make this the trip of a lifetime.”
— Zoe
Custom Itineraries Made for You

Tailor-made adventures remain one of the most rewarding experiences for our team. Designing custom Galápagos trips allows us to truly get to know our travelers, understand their goals, and shape an itinerary that feels personal and meaningful.
Julie described her custom trip beautifully:
“From the start, we could tell Galakiwi was the right partner… It didn’t feel like a large operation. It felt intentional. We interacted with locals, supported community businesses, and had the best guide… It felt magical and will be one of our most spectacular and memorable experiences.”
— Julie
Accessible Travel in the Galápagos

This year we also had the honor of welcoming accessible travelers, and their feedback motivates us to keep expanding what’s possible in the islands.
Many guests arrive with the same question: “How will this be possible in a place as remote as the Galápagos?”
And it’s a fair question. The terrain is wild, the landscapes are volcanic, and logistics can be complex.
Behind the scenes, our team plans every detail long before a traveler sets foot on the islands, by the time the trip begins, every challenge has a solution waiting.
And the best part? Seeing the shift from worry on arrival to pure joy when travelers realize not just that it’s possible, but that they’re having the Galápagos experience of a lifetime.
“We had a private trip with a guide and an assistant to help with wheelchair logistics. Off-road wheelchairs helped me reach beaches and trails… I felt safe and supported during snorkeling, and Galakiwi made every transition seamless… They ensured we always had enough help… It was top-notch.”
— David
