Galakiwi’s Donation to Local Soccer Team “Los Escorpiones”

This content is available in English only

When you think of the Galápagos, you probably picture the wildlife, the landscapes, the adventure. But for us at Galakiwi, it’s also about something quieter, something closer to home. It’s about community. It’s about connection.

On Isabela Island, the youth soccer team Los Escorpiones embodies that spirit every time they take the field. These kids don’t just play with skill, they play with heart. We wanted to celebrate their dedication and the positive impact sports bring to local youth, both on and off the field.

Recently, we made a small donation in the form of brand-new training gear: cones, balls, and other essentials to help them practice and cheer them on in their passion. Seeing the players take the field with excitement was a reminder of how small gestures can strengthen community ties.

For Galakiwi, Los Escorpiones are more than just a team we support, they’re part of our extended community. When we host student groups on the islands, we often arrange friendly matches with Los Escorpiones. These games aren’t just fun, they’re opportunities for young visitors and local players to bond, share cultures, and connect through sport. It’s just one of the many ways we aim to create meaningful experiences that go both ways.

In the Galápagos, youth programs like this team offer much more than a place to play. They build discipline, teamwork, and self-assurance. They create safe spaces where kids can focus on goals, both on and off the field, and where the community can rally behind them.

How You’re Part of This

At Galakiwi, we’ve always believed that travel should be a two-way street, where experiences are shared, relationships are built, and giving back is part of the journey. Supporting Los Escorpiones is one small way we contribute to a community that has given us so much.

We’re grateful to be part of a place where giving back is as important as welcoming visitors, and we thank every traveler who makes that possible.
