Galakiwi Participates in Aquatic Safety Training in San Cristóbal

Last month, Galakiwi was happy to support the Aquatic Safety and Risk Management Workshop, organized by ECUALIFEGUARD in San Cristóbal. The course brought specialized training in water safety, rescue techniques, risk management, and emergency response to local professionals working in tourism.

Our team took part in the three-day training, which combined technical knowledge, emergency procedures, and practical field exercises. The course focused on real-life situations and gave our team the opportunity to strengthen their skills and gain a deeper understanding of how to respond effectively in an aquatic emergency.

For our founder, Tim Cooney, this type of training is a priority for the entire Galakiwi team. Regularly refreshing and updating our knowledge means that important safety procedures stay fresh in everyone's mind and that our team is better prepared to respond when it matters most.

Learning Through Practice

The workshop included practical exercises that allowed participants to put their knowledge into action. The course had a particular focus on SUP rescue techniques and was led by international experts with specialized experience in aquatic safety.

We were especially happy to see the strong interest from local tourism professionals and the enthusiasm of everyone who participated. The number of attendees and their willingness to learn made the experience even more valuable, creating an opportunity for people from different parts of the local tourism community to learn together and share knowledge.

For us, training like this is about more than completing a course. It is about building confidence, keeping essential skills up to date, and creating a stronger culture of safety within the local tourism community.
