Tour Overview

Sometimes dubbed a “luxury hotel in the Amazon”, a trip to the Napo Wildlife Center offers more than fascinating flora and fauna of the Amazon. The ecolodge at Napo takes pride in being Rainforest Alliance verified and Smart Voyager certified, meaning they’re totally committed to offering a sustainable tourism experience in the Ecuadorian Amazon.

Built and owned by the Añangu Kichwa community, Napo Wildlife Center is the largest private reserve in the Ecuadorian Amazon, protecting more than 55,000 acres of their ancestral land within the Yasuni National Park. Officially opened in 2003, the lodge showcases the Añangu lifestyle and culture, while offering a world-class wildlife and nature experience.

The main hall at Napo is an open-air Kichwa style building and offers a large bar and lounge area for relaxing. Around the lodge are six spacious cabins, which include a King and Double bed, private shower and balconies. There are viewing towers around the main hall and cabins, one 20m high and one 50m high – tall enough to see the Andes on a clear day!

Napo Wildlife Center offers visitors the chance to explore numerous trails on foot, or Amazon waterways by paddle canoes, as motorized canoes are not permitted in the Añangu reserve. Whether looking for sea otters by day, or caiman at night, the location of the lodge is ideal for any wildlife or bird lover as more than 560 species of birds have been recorded here!

Combined with a tour to the Galapagos Islands, the Eco lodge at Napo is the perfect way to see the best of the unique natural attractions that Ecuador has to offer.
